Your Destiny; Fight For it!

Everyone has a reason for being alive; we were all birth for a purpose. Our lives are more than eating and drinking. Each one of us has a destiny; a purpose we ought to live for.  The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines destiny as “a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power or … Read more

Easter is About Purpose

Today marks the beginning of the Easter weekend for Christians around the world. Christians believe Jesus death on the cross offers them new life. When we take a closer look at the life of Jesus, it becomes clear that He lived and died not only to reunite us with God the father, but that after we have received salvation, we like Him, can live and die purposefully. You see, Jesus life and death were all about fulfilling purpose.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10 NIV).

What is Your Purpose for Living?

Jesus presence on earth was for a reason- the redemption of mankind. Everything He did aligned with His purpose. He healed the sick, raised the dead back to life and taught new principles for living and ended it all on the cross. Because of what He did on the cross, we too can live purposefully. Finding out what we are alive for and living it out should be our greatest quest.

Most of us live our daily lives consumed with the demands of living such as providing for one’s self and family. But a few people may be wondering how they can figure out what they were meant to do on this side of eternity.

If you are like Samson, Jesus, or John the Baptist, your life’s purpose may have been revealed to your mother. The destinies of these men were determined long before they took their first breath. But we know many of us are not like them; nothing extraordinary happened at our conception and birth. So, what do we do?

Ask God

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3 NIV). There is no one better to ask about our live’s purpose than the one who created us. God has called us to ask Him. He is willing to tell us what He made us for (Jeremiah 29:11).

Take advantage of your circumstance

Esther was a slave girl turned queen. It is easy to assume that she may have felt becoming queen was her life’s purpose. When trouble came knocking, the real reason for her position was revealed.

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14)

What is your present circumstance? Do you have a burden to see change in any specific area in the world? Are you presently going through some tough times? God may be calling you to something bigger than your pain.

Make use of your gifts and talents

If we are honest, we will admit that we cannot all become whatever we set our minds on becoming; at least, we won’t do excellently in all. We are all better at some things than we are at others. Some have the ministry of encouragement like Barnabas, others are leaders like Deborah, some just love children, and many more are musicians, apostles, and teachers.

So, Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. (Ephesians 4:11-12).
